| 5 Things To Help Speed Up A Teachers' Day Nancy Moore sent us an email that explained how difficult her school year has been thus far. With only 3 weeks into the school year, she is already pulling her hair out. No, it's not the parents, students, or the administrators that is causing the dilemma. It's just the complete lack of time to do anything. To help Nancy out here are 5 great ways to speed up her day: 1. Use Teacher Forms - They can be as simple as bathroom logs or bus pass pads. You can cut down on tons of paperwork by just getting students in the habit of filling out these forms on their own. 2. Keep A Weekly Schedule Handy - Have you ever realized that you spend a great deal of time saying to yourself, "What do I have to do next?" This will completely eradicate that process. 3. Have Short Time Fillers - We can prepare and prepare, but we never know what to do with that last 5 minutes of class; when we finish early. 4. Use Rubrics When Grading - Rubrics make it easy to maintain objectivity when grading. Best of all, many teachers find that it real speeds up the grading process of large bodies of work. 5. Realize That You Don't Have To Reinvent The Wheel - When developing lessons it's a great idea to see what other teachers have already done. |
