"What makes you think it's mine?" the referee asked.

"Easy," the coach replied. "It says you missed 13 calls."

Jokes You Can Tell in Class

Back at my high school for the tenth reunion, I met my old coach, Mr. Carlier. Walking through the gym, we came upon a plaque on which I was still listed as the record holder for the longest softball throw.

Noticing my surprise, Coach Carlier said, "That record will stand forever."

I was about to make some modest disclaimer that records exist to be broken, when he added, "We stopped holding that event years ago."

Jokes You Can Tell in Class

The banana loaf I was making was in the oven when my 16-year-old came into the kitchen where the family had gathered.

"That bread smells about done don't you think, Mom?" he asked.

I told him I had set the timer and it was fine.

A little later he repeated his suggestion. "Mom, I really think that loaf is done. Maybe you should check it."

Always quick to come to my defence, my 13-year-old son said, "Eddie, Mom's been burning that banana bread for years now. I think she knows when to take it out."

Jokes You Can Tell in Class

The Winter Break was over and the teacher was asking the class about their vacations. She turned to little Johnny and asked what he did over the break.

"We visited my grandmother in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania," he replied.

"That sounds like an excellent vocabulary word," the teacher said. "Can you tell the class how you spell 'Punxsutawney'?"

Little Johnny thought about it and said, "You know, come to think of it, we went to Ohio."

Teachers Helping Teachers In All 50 States, Provinces, And Territories!

Looks like we opened a can of worms - in a very good way! Over the last two weeks we have shared the stories of teachers who use our web site regularly and have had much success. Since then, we have been receiving many more great stories and thank you notes. Thank you for all your wonderful emails. We have a map of the world in our main office. Every time we receive a note, we place a thumbtack on that location. Looks like the U.S. is almost complete and we have 2 more Canadian Provinces to hear from. We wouldn't tell you what States or Provinces we are missing, that would be cheating. Australia we love you! We have heard from every Australian state/territory.

We wanted to share the story of Shannon Tigere, a fourth grade teacher from Fairbanks, ME. Shannon also tutors math at the middle school and high school grade levels. She said that she uses our Top Ten Math Skills area to gauge the level of students the first time she meets them. Then in circumstances where the student has a great deal of work to catch up on she uses our self-paced math lessons. She says it makes her busy schedule go by much easier. We are super glad we could help Shannon!
