Jokes You Can Tell in Class

A mother gave her teenage daughter a car for her sixteenth birthday. As she handed over the keys, she explained that it was a magic car.

The girl, of course, was very excited, and asked what it did.

"Well," said Mom, "Just get one ticket and you'll see how quickly it will disappear."

How To Have The Best Math Review Day Ever!

Nancy one of our writers just shared this idea with us last week. It's truly a great idea. We were discussing the concept of a math review day. We all thought it takes place the day prior to a test. Trisha had a different concept.

Have students re-work math problems they miss on tests. They should write one or two sentences explaining what they did wrong next to the correct answer. This will help them analyze where they made their mistake so they are less likely to repeat it.

Jokes You Can Tell in Class

One morning I found a beautiful long-stemmed rose lying by the kitchen sink. Even though the flower was plastic, I was thinking how, after all the years we had been married, my husband could still make such a wonderful romantic gesture.

Then I noticed a love note lying next to it.

"Dear Sue," it read. "Don't touch the rose, I'm using the stem to unclog the drain."

Teachers: New Math Worksheets, Math Lessons, and Math Quizzes

1. Math Skills     |     2. Math Grade Levels     |     3. Math Helpers     |     4. Math Timesavers

Do You Go on Math Field Trips?

Janis Pittman from Valencia Junior High asked us this week if we could recommend a field trip for her math class. We discussed it and the best idea was the one Tina one of our authors had: make one of your field trips a meal at a local restaurant. Talk about manners, pricing, and tipping in the days leading up to the trip. See if you can get a menu ahead time and see if students can predict the cost of their meal. Students can enjoy a meal out, practice their manners and their math skills. Best of all; it is not cafeteria food!

You should really consider becoming a full Math Worksheets Center member this week. It takes only a minute. We expect to have over 15,000 sheets soon. Just go here.
