Teaching Tip: Fun Winter Activities and Lessons

Here are some great ideas for adding the theme of Winter to your classes. Look at some complete lessons:

1. Show students why we have four seasons. Try the titled Earth project.

2. Use a funny writing prompt. Give each student an animal of winter and have them describe the animal's day..

3. Have students write a story about the travels of a snowflake.

4. Here is a fun one for students to use their algebra skills. On a blackboard draw a snow man then ask the students to determine a method to find how much water the snow man is made up of.

5. Ask students to explain why most oceans never freeze.

6. Show students how thermometers work.

7. Have students discover how weather patterns make wind, snow, and ice.
