Jokes You Can Tell in Class

While working for an organization that delivers lunches to elderly shut-ins, I used to take my four-year-old daughter on my afternoon rounds.

She was unfailingly intrigued by the various appliances of old age, particularly the canes, walkers and wheelchairs.

One day I found her staring at a pair of false teeth soaking in a glass. As I braced myself for the inevitable barrage of questions, she merely turned and whispered, "The tooth fairy will never believe this!"

November Is Back To Basics for Teachers

November is the first month of the school year when students start to believe they can slack off. Since this is very common, how do we keep them headed in right direction? Simple, remind them of the basics. Go back over your rules, remind them of study skills, review the daily routine that they should have down by now. For some students this will be a waste of their time. For others this reminder will be paramount.

Here are some resources to help you bring your class back to basics:

Following Directions - Will make sure students are thoroughly reading.

Graphic Organizers - Great resources for visual cues.

Graphing - Perfect pivotal skills for all grade levels. Reading graphs become more important.

How To Study - This is the most important skill your student can learn.

Detailed Learning Styles Inventory - Very helpful for teachers and students.
