Teaching Tip: March Lesson Plan Ideas

Here are some March events you are going to want to include in your class.

1. March is National Women's History Month - Have students write or debate on the topic of who is the most influential woman in the world today.
2. March 2 is Read Across America Day - Have students talk or write about the best book they have ever read.
3. March 10th the telephone was born - Have students explain what life would be like if telephones were not around today.
4. March 14th Daylight Savings Time- Research has shown that traffic accidents are increased due to the Spring daylight savings time shift. Have students explain why.
5. March 14 to 20 is National Agriculture Week - Give students a fictional 30 acres of land. Have them design this land into a farm.
6. March 15 to 19 is Wildlife Week - Create a local area food chain with students.
7. March 17th is St. Patrick's Day - Have students design a leprechaun trap.
8. March 20th is the first day of Spring - Have students grow simple plants and measure their growth everyday.
9. March 26th is Make up Your own Holiday Day - Have students design their own holiday. This one is really fun!
10. Earth Hour takes place on March 27th - Encourage students to participate.
