Teaching Tip: Overlooked Graphic Organizers

Graphic organizers are great visual tools that help sum up concepts and many forms of information. Teachers of all grade levels use them. Graphic organizers are great to use when introducing or reviewing a topic. Everyone grew up with Concept Webs, Life Cycles, and Venn Diagrams. Here are some unique graphic organizers you might want to consider using in your class.

We just had a recent staff meeting with all Teachnology Staff Members. We always discuss questions that we are not sure how to answer. Judy from Central Michigan wondered how many web pages are found on our web site. So Jerry our tech director did a hard count of all the pages. As of eleven days ago, we had 81,832 pages on teachnology.com. Judy then had another great question, "I wonder how big that would be if you printed out every single page?" Nancy our math genius took that as a challenge. According to Nancy, 81,832 pages on standard paper would be about 327 inches tall and 3,273 pounds. That's the equivalent height of two giraffes and the weight of a mid-sized car.
